Back in 1920 Earl Johnson, an employee of Johnson & Johnson, wanted a simpler way to bandage his wife's hand, and the Band-Aid was born. The previous method of gauze and medical tape was very efficient and got the job done. It was also very economical, BUT it was not simple to apply.
This is a perfect example of the need for focus on Simplicity and the tools to achieve it.
